Everything starts from a thought....

Tikuna Trax is Sure Player's (SP Recordings) little sister label launched in August 2021.

The word Tikuna comes from the Amazonian tribe who have their own language where one word means many things depending on the tone of each syllable.

With a focus on the more spiritual side of Afro/ Latin and South American music, we will embark on this new venture in search of music with links to places , people, cultures, history and art giving a more profound experience of music with origins and purpose.

Since our launch, we have received great support from Beatport and Traxsource as well as from important names in the dance music industry.

The initial idea of a dance label called "Tikuna"came in 2003 when label founder Carlos Francisco was living in London and regularly touring abroad with a percussionist.
He spoke with his friend Anthony Roachman about the idea of a dance label that incorporated percussion and live instruments (As oppose to just electronic elements) but the project was sidetracked with another that actually sprouted Sure Player Recordings as we know it now.

Somethings are not meant to happen until a certain time and now many years later the original idea has flourished in full effect with a great start and an updated vision that is here to stay for a long time.

Folklore En Ibiza

Cuban artists and musicians Leonardo Milano De Cuba and riveRSound join Tikuna Trax with a track of stellar proportions.

" Folklore En Ibiza is modelled on the type of sound that we would like to play in the White Island (Ibiza). It is a track where we depict the union of the Yoruba culture, African roots and our country rhythms. We play around and mix sounds from styles like Rumba, Guaguancó, Son and Changüí amongst others.
At our parties the drums are the heart and happiness of the Cuban dancers, a concept which we defend and transmit to the dance floors offering a high quality Afro- caribbean musical product." - Leonardo Milano De Cuba

riveRSound and Leonardo Milano are artists of a similar palette of sounds, in this case Afro-Cuban.
On the electronic side of things, riveRSound goes for the more refined Tech House styles while Leonardo likes to insert a good dose of Cuban tradicional music in to his productions.
